Part 1.1: Improve your social media game
Our first set of posts is related to improving the profiles that you may already have. It’s no secret that social media is a pivotal part of any marketing campaign, and many of our partner organizations recognize the importance of having a digital presence. However, there are a few things that need to be done in order to make sure your profiles are effective in generating leads and publicizing your organization’s brand successfully. These posts skip past the lecture about the significance of digital media and put you right in the thick of it. This is the introduction to a series of posts on social media in economic development. Today’s tip: (applies to all platforms: Facebook, YouTube, twitter, LinkedIn. etc…). Make sure the URL to your website is on every single profile that your organization manages, and make sure it’s easy to find. You want to ultimately drive people to your website to learn more about you, so make it easy for them. On your personal LinkedIn profile, have your website somewhere in the summary section. In the following posts you will be provided with three items for each Twitter and Facebook that you can do right now! If you don’t have these platforms for your organization, don’t sweat it. We’ll have posts later in the series that will go into more detail about each platform and provide other resources to help you get started.
